The Greg Smith River Trail, often referred to as the Riverfront Trail, is the crown jewel of Fort Smith’s trail network. Stretching approximately 6 miles along the banks of the Arkansas River, this paved path offers a peaceful and scenic experience of some of the River Valley’s most beautiful natural landscapes. As you ride or walk the trail, you may spot a wide variety of native bird species, including scissortail flycatchers, bald eagles, cranes, herons, buntings, and numerous different waterfowl. Towering cottonwood trees help to immerse you in nature, while sunsets dazzle on the waters.
